Philosophy of Education
Simply stated, my teaching philosophy is the idea that Social Studies education has the capacity to incite learning and discovery in student’s minds as they better understand themselves, others, and the world they live in. Not only is this my philosophy, but it is also my goal for future classes. I believe that every student has the right and ability to inquire and learn more about life when learning Social Studies. To me, Social Studies is an opportunity to make interdisciplinary connections and meaning out of the past and present. Through thoughtful, hands-on, and interactive instruction, students in my classroom will gain the necessary knowledge and skills to become an active and informed citizen in our digital age.
Below you will find a paper I wrote my senior year of college about my philosophy of education. Everything I wrote remains true to me this day.
